Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about how Voxfix works, what it costs, and how it handles your writing.

Voxfix is a background app for Windows that helps people with dyslexia write with confidence, anywhere on their PC. Select any text — in an email, Discord, a form field, a game chat box, anywhere — press a shortcut, and it corrects spelling, grammar, and word order. It also has a voice mode: select text, ask out loud whether it's written correctly, and Voxfix answers back and offers to fix it.

Voxfix works in any Windows text field, not just browsers or a single app. It uses the same selection you'd use to copy text, so it works in email clients, chat apps like Discord and Slack, games, code editors, and word processors alike, rather than being limited to a browser extension.

Selected text is sent securely to Voxfix's backend at the moment you trigger a correction, processed by the AI model, and returned — it is not permanently stored or logged by Voxfix. Only your account's daily usage count (a number, not the text itself) is saved, so your usage limit can be tracked.

Most dyslexia and grammar tools are either browser extensions limited to specific websites, or dedicated desktop software that only works inside particular apps like Word. Voxfix is a background hotkey tool that works in any Windows text field system-wide, and adds a voice-conversation mode — asking "is this spelled correctly?" out loud and getting a spoken answer — which existing tools in this category don't offer.

According to the International Dyslexia Association, as many as 15–20% of the population shows some symptoms of dyslexia, making it the most common learning disability — accounting for an estimated 80–90% of all diagnosed learning disabilities.

Voxfix has a free plan with a daily usage allowance, no credit card required. Premium is $7.99/month or $75/year, and includes a significantly higher daily usage limit for people who write and correct text more frequently throughout the day.

Yes. A free account is required so your usage limit and plan can be tracked securely — sign-up takes under a minute and doesn't require a credit card for the free plan.

Yes. Both the text-correction shortcut and the voice-mode shortcut can be changed from Voxfix's settings panel — click "Change" next to either hotkey and press your preferred key combination.

Both modes are available and switchable in settings. "Confirm before replacing" shows you the suggested correction with changes highlighted before applying it. "Auto-replace" applies corrections immediately without asking, for a faster, uninterrupted workflow.

Voxfix currently supports Windows only.

Select text, press the voice shortcut, and ask a question out loud — for example, "is this spelled correctly?" Voxfix listens to your actual voice, checks the selected text, and answers back conversationally. If it finds mistakes, it offers to fix them, and you can confirm by saying "yes" or continue the conversation naturally.
